Making paintings with your own hands. Paintings for the interior with your own hands - we create comfort and a wonderful atmosphere in the house. Paintings from putty

Non-standard solutions in the interior always delight guests and delight the eyes of the owners of the apartment. The original idea is to make volumetric paintings from paper, you can make them yourself. Such accessories will complement the design of any room, add comfort to the atmosphere.

Work is carried out according to schemes and templates in various techniques. Crafts are enclosed in wooden frames and decorate the rooms of the house.

Wall compositions give the interior a new character - they look original and stylish. You can make a panel with your own hands using different techniques. To get started, just stock up on a lot of paper, paints, brushes and show your imagination.

The technique in which sheets of paper are folded to form figurines is called origami. Each person got acquainted with the technology of creating the simplest forms in childhood: such products were in demand at labor lessons. The technique consists in the gradual addition of a paper sheet in a certain order. The direction originated in China, only representatives of the upper class could own the technique.

Paper paintings made using origami have an unusual appearance. Manufacturing is simple: often you don’t need to cut anything, you just have to follow the rules and steps for adding sheets. Three-dimensional paintings with animal figures look modern, they are quite simple to make. Creation principle:

  • Printing the template on a color printer.
  • Preparing a cardboard background.
  • Cutting and folding the template, gluing it.
  • Fixing the figurine on a cardboard background.
  • The conclusion of the work in the frame.

A child from 6 years old can make a picture using the origami technique: let the kid choose the animal figure himself, and the parents will help with folding and gluing.

Another fashionable technique in the world of creativity with paper is quilling. It involves the image on the plane of a certain composition with the help of long paper strips. Each is twisted into a spiral by hand, then fixed with glue on the surface of the background. The result is a voluminous craft, for which you can also use colored stripes.

Paper rolling originated in the 14th century and was previously considered a real art, and later a hobby for real needlewomen. For work, perseverance and attentiveness will be required, because all spirals must have a certain size, be even. In the quilling technique, birds, plants, winter landscapes turn out beautifully - all this can be included in the picture. For the paper twisting technique, tools are used:

  • plastic boards on a cork base with cutouts of figures;
  • tweezers with straight, curved spouts;
  • quilling templates;
  • quilling coach to create even curls;
  • twist sticks.

All these devices will help create beautiful paintings, but the work will be painstaking, so you have to try.

Translated from the Ukrainian language, “pull out” means to cut out. The technique is to create openwork patterns and small pictures on paper. The simplest example of a vytynanka is an ordinary snowflake cut out of cardboard. For work, there is no need to buy expensive materials and tools. You will need a stationery knife, a stencil, white paper, cardboard of a suitable color, as well as PVA glue and a self-healing mat. If the latter is not available, you can safely use plywood.

Step by step work looks like this:

  • Paper is placed on a sheet of plywood, a template is applied on top.
  • Using a sharp clerical knife, cut out holes according to the stencil.
  • First, cut out large, then small parts.
  • The finished work is glued to colored cardboard and framed.

Framing can also be done by hand. A frame made of bright multi-colored buttons, corrugated cardboard and other improvised means looks good. It is better to hang the picture in the children's room, especially if the child helped to carry it out.

The decoupage technique involves cutting and gluing fragments of an illustration onto a surface. It is not difficult to make a three-dimensional picture in this technique, the main thing is to choose a beautiful drawing and print it in 5-7 copies. You can use multilayer napkins, then you will also have to purchase several identical items.

Volumetric crafts are performed as follows:

  • One of the printed pictures (or a napkin) will be the base. It sticks to hard cardboard.
  • Each subsequent picture will add volume: on the first one you need to cut off part of the background, on the second - some elements of the picture, on the third - near details.
  • Elements in the foreground will be eye-catching, voluminous.
  • Corrugated cardboard is cut into pieces and puzzles of the picture are started to be glued.
  • When the three-dimensional work is ready, it can be varnished.

In this technique, New Year's landscapes, animals, images of forests and nature look original.

A three-dimensional picture from the application is suitable not only as an interior decoration, but also for congratulating close friends, relatives, and a loved one. Such a composition can be done simply and quickly. It is necessary to cut out flat figures, fold them for volume and glue them to the background. A few ideas for appliqué by type of picture:

  • monochrome hearts are a good option for congratulations on Valentine's Day;
  • an image of a tree (for example, a chestnut tree with an original leaf shape) is well suited for application;
  • spring flowers - such crafts are usually given on March 8;
  • three-dimensional application with natural motifs - a drawing of a fox against the background of plants, flowers.

In addition to paper and cardboard, you can create textile applications on foam. This is another type of creative work that will help you make a three-dimensional picture. Felt is suitable as an auxiliary material (it is used to create soft elements).

Pictures made using the paper weaving technique are fragile. The painstaking work makes these products expensive, because first you need to create a sketch, and then draw it on the basis of a drawing using a weave of paper tubes (to make them flexible, they are moistened). To perform, newspaper turundas are often used, they must first be painted white, and then in the desired color.

In the technique of volumetric weaving, stylish work is obtained. Looks great selection of animals, birds, painted in bright colors. Such a panel will perfectly complement the interior of a bright living room or children's room. A three-dimensional picture can also be placed on the wall in the hallway or corridor.

Works in this technique are performed not on cardboard, like other paintings, but on wood. For the base, it is better to use this particular material, since the layer-by-layer creation of volumetric parts requires a solid base. The mass for work is made from pieces of paper mixed with glue. Use a hand blender to break up lumps better.

The resulting mixture is laid out on a base, various shapes are formed with the help of stacks, as a result, a 3D picture is obtained. At the final stage, the product can be covered with acrylic, and when it dries, with varnish. Such works of art will become the dignity of the interior.

Decorative three-dimensional paper panels in stages

To create a three-dimensional picture on your own, you need to choose the technique in which the work will be done. Then pick up the right materials, tools, come up with an idea. Collections of master classes, diagrams and templates of three-dimensional paper paintings will help you create unique products step by step.

There are several options for creating paper buds for decorative panels. An artificial flower should convey the beauty of a real bud as accurately as possible. You can make plants from ordinary colored, as well as corrugated paper. A few simple creative ideas:

  • layered flowers. Made from colored paper according to the template. Cut out several petals, put on top of each other. Using a toothpick, twist the ends of the leaves. Glue stamens of bright color in the middle;
  • twisting into a tube. Here, the petals are wound immediately onto a stem made of wire, after which it is glued to the panel. You will need corrugated paper, from which a long strip is cut out and gradually fixed to the stem. At the end, they are attached to PVA glue;
  • oblique fringe technique. In this way, you can make poppies, chrysanthemums, roses. A flower bud is drawn on paper, the petals are cut and folded. Then a fringe is cut out of thin colored sheets and twisted at the base of the flower.

The theme of plants is always relevant - such a picture will be a wonderful gift, as well as dilute the interior of a country-style kitchen.

Even a child can make a simple and voluminous butterfly according to a step-by-step master class. It’s good if your kid draws the base, and parents help to fold it correctly. Step by step:

  • Prepare colored paper, cardboard, glue, scissors and a pencil.
  • Cut out 2 rectangles, one of which is larger than the other in size.
  • Each rectangle is folded like an accordion.
  • The wings are cut in a semicircle, giving a real shape.
  • Each element is folded in half and glued together.
  • A mustache and a body are made of cardboard; beads can be glued to the end of the antennae.

Do-it-yourself volumetric paper paintings can be made in the theme of a garden, where such a three-dimensional butterfly sits on each tree. Insects can be glued to plants in a panel.

Abstraction: using additional materials

Pictures with abstraction look stylish and modern. To perform such work, not only colored paper, but also fabric, coffee beans, and leather can be useful. The essence of the work lies in the chaotic arrangement of elements for the formation of fantasy crafts. Step by step work looks like this:

  • Prepare the base - wood or thick cardboard.
  • They make a sketch - separately draw the future panel on paper.
  • According to the scheme, individual elements are cut out of colored paper sheets, fabric or leather.
  • The details are applied to the base, while you need to try on the future composition (it is advisable to number each detail).
  • Work starts from the center. To make the panel bright, it is better to use different colors.
  • The craft is enclosed in a frame. If it is made of paper, it can be covered with acrylic varnish for additional protection.

Such a picture will look original on the wall if you make it illuminated around the perimeter. The composition will decorate the bedroom, living room and any modern interior, for example, in the loft style.

Designing paper animals is a fascinating and painstaking task. To realistically convey all the details, you will have to use a large number of elements. For example, to recreate bird feathers, you will need to cut many semicircular elements and stick them in a certain order. Additionally, you can use plasticine, it acts as an adhesive base on the background.

Step by step:

  • A sketch is drawn against the background, where all the elements will be glued in turn.
  • Stripes are cut out of colored paper with imitation of wings or wool.
  • All the strips are glued onto the base in layers (it will turn out beautifully if each layer differs by one tone from the previous one).

At the end, the muzzle of a bird or animal is created, the eyes are glued. In the same technique, you can make an application for a three-dimensional Christmas tree, make a panel in honor of Cosmonautics Day, depicting a rocket. By analogy, they make letters that need to be glued to the base and lay out the word. In the same way, it is easy to decorate the cover of a book.

Photos of three-dimensional paintings cannot convey all the creativity and beauty of their real appearance. To understand how pleasant and original such panels look, you should try to make them yourself from paper.

Each interior should have its own zest, and often the simplest and most elegant option to bring originality to the room is a picture.

But how do you find what will decorate your bedroom, living room or other room? Most likely, for the author's work, you will have to pay a large amount of money.

But if you do not count on additional expenses, but you still want to have something original, then it is quite possible to make an interesting picture with your own hands.

However, you don't have to be good at drawing. After all, paintings in the usual sense have long been replaced by three-dimensional images on the walls, abstract ideas embodied in a variety of techniques.

DIY fabric paintings

All quality canvases are made on a fabric basis. However, the modern interpretation of such paintings changes our view of art.

Modular fabric paintings have gained great popularity. But it's not that hard to make them yourself. In stores now you can find a lot of fabrics with a very beautiful, interesting and bright print.

If you liked any of them, then you can safely buy it and make an author's decor item.

Modular picture

To create such a room decoration as a modular fabric picture, you will need a base in addition to the selected material. It can even be a door from an old cabinet or a piece of chipboard, which could well be lying around somewhere in the garage after repair.

Cut out a few pieces from the base to the size of your fabric and fit the tree with it. Make sure that the fabric is well stretched and does not form wrinkles. Your painting is almost ready. It remains only to attach the hooks for which it will be attached to the wall.

Most often, such paintings consist of three or more modules, which can be either the same size or different. Their shape can also be different.

The most common and easiest to manufacture are square and rectangular elements. But there are round, oval and other forms of modules for paintings. Frames for picture modules in this case are not needed.

Pictures from clothes

Even a T-shirt can decorate your interior. It often happens that on clothes that you have not worn for so long, and their colors are still bright, stains or holes appear. You can not throw away a seemingly spoiled thing, but make an original picture out of it.

Cut out a rectangle with the image from the clothes, glue it on paper and place it in a frame. The photo shows that such paintings depicting cartoon characters will fit perfectly into the interior of a children's room.

Embroidery

In some way, embroidery can also be attributed to fabric paintings. This method of decorating the interior is not new. Even our great-grandmothers had at least one image embroidered with their own hands in the house.

However, to embroider a picture, you still need some skills and patience. This method is not suitable for everyone, but if you are engaged in needlework, then hand-embroidered pictures can say a lot about you as a hostess.

Volumetric paintings

Relief images on the wall are also very popular as decorative elements in the interior. Volumetric paintings can be made with plaster on the wall even before it is finished.

But such a decoration can only take place when it is not planned to stick wallpaper on the wall.

Note!

The method of making such paintings requires training and a considerable amount of time. Therefore, it is not suitable for everyone.

paper pictures

There is an easier way to make a 3D image. To do this, you will need colored paper or cardboard. Cut out several figures of the same or different sizes from it. It can be, for example, butterflies.

Using pins or double-sided tape, attach them to the wall in a chaotic manner or forming some kind of pattern. Your paper painting will look more impressive if you choose a color that contrasts with the tone of the wall itself.

Butterflies themselves can also be of different colors. Such a picture will sparkle with new colors when artificial lighting is on, so it will look most advantageous in rooms where the light is turned on most often, for example, in the corridor.

If your house has a staircase to the second floor, then the kittens in different poses, placed on the wall, to which the steps adjoin, will look original.

Paintings from bushings

To make a voluminous decor with the image of flowers and leaves, toilet paper or paper towel sleeves will help. It is enough to flatten the cylinder a little and cut it into equal parts about 2-3 cm wide.

Note!

In order for the flowers to be brighter and the leaves to stand out in color even before work begins, the bushings can be painted in different colors. The individual parts of the sleeve should be placed in such a way that a flower forms, so that you can compose entire compositions.

Paintings made of artificial flowers

The easiest to make are pictures of artificial flowers or other decorative elements. The main thing here is to beautifully glue the finished parts to the base.

For this technique, you will need a frame, solid material and the actual image itself. Cover a sheet of paper with a cloth, wrapping its edges and gluing it on the back.

Then, after removing the glass from the frame, insert the base of your picture into it and glue artificial flowers or other details (shells, dry twigs, etc.) to it. At the end, you can decorate the frame with beads.

If you already have a finished canvas, then there are many master classes on how to decorate a picture that has already bothered you and thereby update the interior.

Note!

A flat image of nature or still life can look completely different if you attach a few volumetric details to it.

It can be either an image cut out of paper or natural materials in the form of dry leaves or even butterflies.

3D paintings

Using improvised materials, you can create three-dimensional paintings that will decorate the walls of your home. Absolutely any thing can be used: dried flowers, colored paper, twine, corks from wine bottles, pieces of fabric, leather, the imagination is limitless. Consider the simplest options.

Using colored paper

From colored paper, you can cut out absolutely any figures. You can even use a template for this. You can stick the figures on the canvas using ordinary PVA glue. Thus, you will get an attractive paper picture, moreover, its creation will not require any special skills from you.

Even simple wallpapers can be used. Surely, you will find scraps of a variety of wallpapers, from which you can add a variety of patterns. Use your imagination, it is possible that you will be able to recreate a fairy-tale castle or a hut on chicken legs using your material. Use clippings from different types of wallpaper and you will get a bright, colorful image.

Attach your creation to a thick sheet of cardboard, frame it, hang it on the wall and enjoy the view. If the picture is intended for a kitchen room, then you can insert a wallpaper pattern into a candy box. Of course, consider the color of the walls and the decor in the room, your creation should be combined and match the general background.

Leather - master class

The picture on the wall made of leather looks original. But you can start creating this picture from flowers only if you have already gained enough experience in creating three-dimensional paintings. We present you a master class that will help you create such a miracle for yourself at home.

First, prepare the frame and the base, which will then be inserted into the frame. You will need leather material. Given that such material is quite expensive, you can take an old leather coat and cut it into pieces. Do not forget to prepare acrylic paints, scissors, a knife, a stapler, glue, paper sheet, crayon.

Consider a step by step description:

  • Make paper patterns of leaves, petals, cut them out.

  • Cut out the details of the future picture from the skin according to a pre-made template. You can hold the skin a little above the fire, which will make it look more attractive.

  • Paint the details with acrylic paints in the colors you want.

  • Insert the base into the frame. It can be a simple fabric sheet that you will need to stretch or take a simple sheet of plywood.

  • Lay out the previously made leather details on the base and evaluate how it will look. You can overlay other details to improve the composition. Use dried flowers, shells, twigs, and other materials.

  • Glue all the details with glue.
  • Hang the picture on the wall.

Thus, you can create any paintings from leather, which only your imagination is capable of.

Modular pictures

The most popular in interior design today are modular paintings. Their brightness is amazing, they personify good taste and sophistication. In addition, they make any room attractive and hide its flaws. These paintings have one idea, but all their elements are corroded.

If desired, such modular paintings with your own hands can be made at home. The size and shape of modular paintings varies, so you need to choose one that matches your room. The modular picture should have 3 parts, but maybe less or more.

Before you start, you need to determine what will be depicted in the picture. Realistic landscapes and interesting places of the big city look good. You should not divide a human portrait into modules, it will not look attractive.

To create a modular painting, you don't have to paint it yourself. You will only need to select any image from the Internet and print it on a printer. Then you just cut it into several pieces and hang it on the wall in such a fragmented form. For aesthetics, you can transfer the summer image to canvas or a sheet of cardboard.

Fragments of the picture can be placed each in a separate frame and hung on the wall. The basis for the models can be made of wood, chipboard, foam and other materials. Modular paintings can be made on fabric and made up of a variety of shreds.

Modular paintings look best on large spaces, concrete walls. Canvases of different sizes, as well as asymmetric parts, look original. It is better to cover the surface of the painting with a protective varnish to protect it from dust and rapid abrasion.

Painting Ideas

It can be quite difficult for many to decide what kind of picture to paint, how to arrange materials. In this case, you can consider the following best ideas and photos.

Blue abstraction. Take the following items: blue tulle or ribbons, scissors, cardboard or canvas, glue. Cut a few pieces of blue tulle or ribbons, put together an abstract picture from them. Stick with glue on the base. Work carefully so that the glue does not smudge your drawing. You can then frame your creation and hang it on the wall.

Gold autumn. To make such a picture, you will need the following things: a base in the form of a piece of cardboard or plywood, plain fabric, acrylic paints, a brush, glue, a tree branch, golden spray paint.

Take the fabric and cover it with fabric. The fabric can be additionally painted over with plain paint, it is better to take blue. Prepare the branch. To make it easier to lay down on the drawing, it is better to put something flat and heavy on it and hold it for a while. Then you will need to glue the twig to the canvas and spray gold spray paint over the entire pattern. Wait until your composition is completely dry and you can hang it on the wall.

Fabric butterflies. Cut out beautiful butterflies from fabric and stick them on the wall with PVA glue. Such decorations will enliven any plain boring wall.

You can lay out a beautiful composition from ordinary buttons of different colors. Glue them on the canvas, insert them into the frame and decorate the wall of your house.

For the kitchen, a picture made up of coffee beans is perfect. From this material, you can make quite original drawings. First you need to prepare a base from an acron sheet and canvas, apply some kind of drawing on it, and then lay out this drawing with coffee beans. In order for the coffee beans to be firmly attached to the pattern, it is better to use a glue gun. Along with coffee beans, you can use other materials such as shells, pasta and other scrap materials.

Pictures can even be made from old newspapers. This option is great for retro style.

Make a lot of small pieces of paper painted in the color of fish scales and make an original picture out of them.

Dried flowers are an excellent material for creating paintings. The main thing is to prepare a lot of material, but even if you did not have time to prepare it in the summer, you can use the flowers that grow in your home. To create DIY flower paintings, you only need a canvas, a frame, double glass, but of course, dried flowers.

Use your imagination and any material at hand to create paintings. You can always create a masterpiece worthy of admiration that will decorate the walls of your home and make it more comfortable.

And as soon as they started talking about 3d - a very exciting activity: creating three-dimensional drawings on millimeter paper, from which anamorphic illusions are obtained. You can also make amazing multi-layered pictures from paper.

Cutting out large multilayer paintings from plain paper - interesting hobby. If you decide to try your hand at this part of the art, start with simple paper paintings, the production of which will allow you to familiarize yourself with the details of this type of craftsmanship.

We offer an easy and detailed master class, familiarization with which will help you make a large picture cut out of paper with your own hands. It takes very little time to do this, and the materials that will be required for work can always be found at home.

To work, we need:

  • wood frame.
  • Blue, white, golden paper.
  • Glitter in liquid form.
  • Styrofoam.
  • Wire.
  • Office knife.
  • Big tape.
  • Glue, three different ones.

Process description

Before creating the picture, we will process the wood frame with white paint. Easier to use spray paint. Remember that the front of our product will be the reverse side of the frame. While the paint is drying, you can move on to creating the background. To do this, cut out a rectangle from the material of a blue tint. It should fully fit the dimensions of the internal dimensions of the frame.

On a white leaf, we will depict several trees with different intersecting branches. To make it easier to cut, we shade a couple of intersections with our pencil. Under the first leaf put the second sheet. We proceed to cutting out the marked areas. After that, separate the leaves and trim the cuts with a knife.

Slowly fold the edges of both sheets to increase their volume. We will also turn the tree trunks by making small cuts and fixing them with our glue. This work is easier to do with an awl. Glue a couple of pieces of foam on the bottom sheet, and then attach a second sheet to it. Space begins to appear between the paper drifts, which gives the effect of layering and volume.

Now, with the help of our stationery knife for perforating, we make a couple of dozen round "snowflakes". In the same way, cut out a couple of circles (circles) of various sizes from multi-colored paper. If we don't have it, let's start with liquid glitter and make circles.

Cut out the material of the moon in the form of a circle and figures of animals, from yellow we make stars.

On the third sheet of our white material, we depict a tall tree with thin and long branches, slowly cut it out. When all the details are done, you can proceed to the assembly of the “cutout”, as paper paintings are also called. To do this, in turn, you need to glue the layers of paper on top of each other.

Our voluminous fake is done, it's time to frame it. We measure the center at the top of the frame, screw the wire into the loop. Then we will draw a wire or rope into the loop so that the product can be hung on the wall. Inside the frame, glue a couple of strips of large adhesive tape and evenly place the picture.

Craft completed! Now you can safely decorate the house with a paper picture created by yourself.

As you can see, with a little effort and patience, you can make unique paintings.

ZD paper picture, master class and diagram

For making 3D paintings we need the following materials and certain simple tools:

  • A large frame or a good box of chocolates.
  • Special knife or knife for decoupage.
  • Simple pencil.
  • Sharp scissors.
  • Leaf with print.
  • A sheet of white special paper or small cardboard.
  • Ruler.
  • PVA glue.
  • First stage. We start by making a blank out of white special paper or thin cardboard, in accordance with the dimensions of the selected frame.
  • Second phase. Separately, on a sheet of strong paper, we draw by hand or print a small heart with a printer, four cm in height and five in width. We will calmly cut out the sketch made along the contour and get the template needed for making a 3D paper picture.
  • Third stage. Next, the created template apply to the blank of our paper and circle it in a row a couple of times horizontally and vertically. At the end we will have an image with nine identical hearts. You can get more or less hearts, it all depends on the size of the picture frame and the base, in accordance with which, we all cut out.
  • Fourth stage. Then taking stationery knife or decoupage knife, we create cuts on each heart made on both sides, leaving only the upper and lower middle of each image intact.
  • Fifth stage. After that, for each cut out heart, slowly bend both halves, in one direction, so that it looks voluminous outwardly.
  • Sixth stage. Glue the created blank with large hearts on scrap paper with a small print so that it is visible through the holes made.
  • Seventh stage. We insert the finished blank of a 3D paper picture into a frame and complete work on its creation. In approximately the same way, you can make a picture from an accordion, the main thing in this work is that a person knows how to correctly assemble and cut out details from paper.

Conclusion. Do not be afraid to start making paper crafts, after simple products, you can start making pictures of flowers, and then you can also sell them.

Each resident of an apartment building dreams of diversifying his typical dwelling with a standard layout with an unusual decor that none of the neighbors will have.

One of these original ideas is voluminous sculptural compositions on the walls, which can be made independently from paper, fabric, putty, gypsum and other materials.

Here are some practical master classes that will allow you to make a three-dimensional picture with your own hands, adding some zest to the interior.

Master class on making a simple 3D paper picture

An ordinary application of colored paper, transferred to the wall, becomes a whole original painting or panel, it can even be called a sculpture. Volumetric paper paintings are very easy to perform, so with minimal creative skills, you yourself can create an unusual and unique composition.

To make a 3D picture, you need the following tools and materials:

  • a frame with high sides (you can replace it with an empty box of chocolates);
  • paper knife;
  • a simple pencil, ruler and scissors;
  • scrapbooking paper with a pattern or pattern;
  • a sheet of coated paper or thin cardboard;
  • PVA glue.

Operating procedure:

  1. The first thing to do is to cut out a "canvas" from coated paper or cardboard, on which the elements of the composition will be pasted.
  2. Next, you need to draw a diagram of the arrangement of volumetric elements on the "canvas" with a simple pencil.
  3. On a separate piece of paper, draw a sketch of a three-dimensional element for a future picture, for example, a heart. Carefully cut out the resulting template. If you can’t draw beautifully by hand, you can use ready-made templates purchased at a store or printed on a printer.
  4. Attach the heart template to the prepared coated paper and trace around the outline with a pencil. Similarly, in accordance with a well-thought-out scheme, arrange a few more hearts.
  5. Using a paper knife, make cuts on the sides of the drawn hearts, bypassing the upper and lower middle, as shown in the photo.
  6. Gently bend the two cut out halves of the heart towards each other to give it volume.
  7. Glue thin cardboard with cut-out volumetric elements on top of a sheet of scrapbooking paper so that the bright substrate shines through.
  8. It remains only to place the finished picture in a frame and hang it on the wall.

In this technique, fluttering butterflies, blooming flowers, a voluminous dress on a girl look very good.

Creating paintings on the wall using the technique of volumetric decoupage

Volumetric decoupage, or papertole, is a special technique for creating volumetric images directly on the wall. It is quite simple, but still requires certain skills and accuracy. A practical master class will tell you how to make volumetric paintings from paper with your own hands using the technique of volumetric decoupage.

What you need for work:

  • paper for papertoli - it must be thick and heavy;
  • silicone glue;
  • polymer clay;
  • towel and paper napkins;
  • polyurethane varnish;
  • scissors, brushes, pencil or felt-tip pen;
  • tweezers (for working with small details of the composition).

Order of execution:

  1. First, outline a diagram of the future picture right on the wall.
  2. Then cut out the pattern of your choice from decoupage paper or napkin. A very wide workpiece can be divided into two or three parts for ease of gluing.
  3. The elements of the painting are first dipped in warm water and then blotted with a paper towel.
  4. From the wrong side, grease the workpiece or its parts with silicone decoupage glue, attach it to the wall and lightly press down with a paper towel. It is necessary to very carefully adjust the joints of the parts of the composition to each other, as well as iron the image to avoid the formation of bubbles and remove excess glue.
  5. Next, we proceed to give our picture volume. A copy of the blank glued to the wall, cut into elements. Spread glue on one of the components of the picture, and on the wall in the place where it should be located, attach a piece of quick-drying polymer clay, additionally smearing it on top with glue. The processed piece of the picture is slightly soaked in water, blotted with a towel, smeared with glue again and glued to the clay.
  6. After a few hours, when the image is completely dry and the clay hardens, the painting is varnished with a thin paint brush.

In this way, a variety of relief patterns are created on the wall. In the photo you can see examples of works made using the volumetric decoupage technique.
